Liberty Tribute

Newark Liberty International Airport was once only Newark International Airport, but the “Liberty” was added in 2002 as a tribute to the September 11th terrorist attacks. United Airlines flight 93 originated from EWR, and was tragically crashed into field in Shanksville, PA, killing all passengers.

With thirty different airlines, three terminals, and about 35 million passengers each year, it’s safe to say that Newark Liberty International Airport is one of the busiest international airports in America. On your trip to New York, you may land in New Jersey - but your destination is still the Big Apple. Check out Travel Savvy’s list below, all about Newark Liberty Airport.
