Top Places for Las Vegas Blackjack

By Travel Savvy

No matter how much things change in Vegas, most things stay pretty much the same in Sin City. There’s always something exciting happening in every casino on the strip, hollywood celebrities are constantly out and about, and fortunes are made or lost every hour.

With so many choices scattered across the desert, choosing a casino for your next visit can be a hard decision. Do you go where the stars go? Pick the place with the trendiest food and amenity options? How about where you’ll have the most luck?

Well, Brody Jenner was just spotted at the MGM Grand post breakup, Bryan Cranston got a haircut at the Cosmopolitan’s new hot barbershop, and blackjack is still one of the most popular non-slot games around.  No one comes to Vegas to lose, so it’s also good to note that Treasure Island and the Wynn both have soft 17 blackjack tables still scattered about--as do MGM Grand and Cosmopolitan.  Not familiar with this ‘soft 17’ rule? Gaming expert Henry Tamburin writes an excellent explanation here, and also directed us to this list of blackjack games at different casinos.

Let’s review each property’s highlights and see what you’ll want to check out when you’re not at the tables or chasing down celebrity sightings.

1

Cosmopolitan

Food halls have become such a thing that now Vegas has one, and it’s in the ultra chic Cosmopolitan. Block 16 Urban Food Hall is perfect for a large group in a rush to party at Marquee next door; everyone can get what they want and not walk away having blown their budget. Of all the offerings in the Hall, we’re eyeing the Nashville-based Hattie B’s Hot Chicken outpost, because while we love their chicken, their banana pudding is the bomb!

2

MGM Vegas

Of all the pool scenes in Vegas, the one at MGM's Wet Republic may be the most “Grand.” Patrons come daily to enjoy the endless supply of cabanas and daybeds scattered across the 54500-square-foot venue. Check out the monthly calendar for visiting DJs and be sure to register online in advance if you want VIP status and to rent a private bungalow.

3

Treasure Island

Families will always flock to a property like Treasure Island, which is famous for being kid-friendly. With the long-running Cirque du Soleil show nightly, along with their Avengers Marvel interactive showcase, this property is perfect for all ages. Throw in an onsite spa and the pedestrian walkway that connects to the Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes, plus better odds at the blackjack tables, and everyone leaves happy by the end of the trip.

4

Wynn

Consistently rated at the top of the all the hotel offerings in Sin City by Forbes, the Wynn is praised for luxury and service that keeps picky travelers happy. You never have to leave the property to experience the best of Vegas--including the chic Encore Beach Club for daytime fun, XS Nightclub for partying all night, and top notch food choices for all-day dining. Plus, they land the best entertainment bookings (Drake will be there on September 14th). To top it off, there’s a Soul Cycle on the property. What more could one ask for?
