Located between two of the city's busiest districts -- Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain -- Eastern Comfort is moored on the east side of the Spree River with nearby connections to tourist attractions in Mitte and West Berlin. This floating hostel has 25 cabins on three decks that all equipped with their own en suite. Guests are also invited to enjoy breathtaking city views at the ship's Floating Lounge, which serves beer, cocktails, coffee and snacks. If you're traveling in a group you can pay as low as $18 per night for a dorm cabin and shared bathroom, or $108 for a 4-person private cabin.

Hostels are becoming the most popular alternative to staying in hotels. They're usually well-situated near popular sites or near city centers, and are cost efficient, allowing you to spend more on cultural excursions, dining and tours. From Sweden to Greece, we've rounded up some of the coolest hostels across Europe that are worth the money you'll save.
