For Jeff and Joy Stehney, Kansas City barbecue is a way of life. The husband-and-wife team behind Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que probably never thought they were going to open up one of the city’s most acclaimed BBQ joints when they attended a local BBQ festival in 1990 at the invitation of a friend. One taste of smokey charred perfection coupled with the camaraderie and friendly competition amongst vendors to see who could create meaty perfection, and the couple was hooked.

Today, the flagship location of their chain of restaurant sits next to a gas station, but don't let the modest curbside appearance fool you...Joe's KC is one of the most popular eateries in the city. Some of our favorite menu options include the Pulled Pork and The Z-Man Sandwich, and of course their ribs excellent!
