The White Horse Tavern in Newport, RI, was originally constructed in 1652 as a private home and it was converted to a tavern 20 years later. Today it is thought to be the oldest tavern in the United States, and is considered a "bucket list bar" because of the building's storied past and as an excellent example 17th Century American Architecture.
