Need a pick-me-up? We've got the inside scoop on spring's hottest music festival tickets and travel-specific emojis for your smartphone!

[Please note: While this episode of We Hear originally aired in 2015, we have updated the article below to reflect the latest festival information.]

  • This spring and every spring, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival comes to life, bringing MUSIC HEAVEN to over 400 thousand fans. The festival has been held annually since 1970, when it was founded by the New Orleans Hotel & Motel Association. The official food policy of the Festival is "no carnival food." Instead, attendees feast on gourmet and traditional treats like crawfish beignets, po' boys, boiled crawfish, jambalaya, fried green tomatoes, beans and rice... the list goes on. Past performers include Elton John, The Who, Lady Gaga, John Legend, Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Wonder, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Kings of Leon… we can only imagine what the this year's line-up will be.
  • Thanks to Starwoods' Aloft brand, emojis can now actually do something other than make your text messages cute. They can cure a hangover or get you some late night snacks and an iphone charger. That's right, Aloft Manhattan Downtown is the test property for the new emoji program, which offers a series of kits ranging from $10 to $30 with pre-specified contents. That Hangover Kit contains Vitamin Water, Advil and Bananas and the Sightseer kits provides a $10 Metrocard and a map of the City. Visit the hotel so you can try out all the emoji kits; plus you'll love the loft inspired rooms with platform beds and Bliss Spa amenities. Starwood has plans to expand the program to other Aloft properties in Europe, Asia and beyond.
