Top Student Hangouts London

If you're eschewing the beaches and heading to London for spring break or planning a semester abroad, we'd like you to meet Riah Binks, a design student at the University of the Arts.

Stay tuned as Riah guides us around town to show us where she and her mates unwind, party and enjoy all that London has to offer.

  • Inspired by the vibrant cuisine of Barcelona and San Sebastian, Pix Pintos is a hip Spanish bar and restaurant with four locations in the city. Grab a plate and help yourself to a wide assortment of tapas and pintxos to accompany your wine. For the budget-minded (and hungry) student, there's all-you-can-eat Sundays.
  • A record store by day and club by night, The Bussey Building/Rye Wax in Peckham is a multi-functional arts warehouse. Club nights include BritPop, Funk, Soul and Swing. Be sure to check their events calendar for rooftop movie screenings and stand-up comedy nights.
  • Located underneath a railway arch by Elephant & Castle, Corsica Studio is the brainchild of artists Amanda Moss and Adrian Jones. It's where DJs spin the latest in club music while party people dance among projected video art installations.
  • Fabric is one of the most popular and legendary dance clubs in London for those seeking dubstep, drum and bass, hip-hop and electro. Bring your student discount and you can feel the bass drop in three different rooms, one with a vibrating floor, until the sun rises.
  • Head a few blocks north of Liverpool Street Station for the Queen of Hoxton, a bar, nightclub, performance space and art gallery. Take your drink and enjoy the painted murals, then head up to the popular rooftop wigwam space for BBQ. In the warmer months, grab some wireless headphones and layout among the stars for their Rooftop Film Club.
  • It is possible to get excellent Mexican food in London. Tonteria (translated: nonsense) is the place for kitchy Mexican fun, which means live mariachi bands, lucha libre wrestling, a tequila train and shareable dishes. Even Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton are fans.
